The Star of David, also known as the Shield of David or Magen David, is one of the most recognizable symbols of Judaism. However, while it has a strong association with Judaism, that has only been the case for about the last 200 years. There are many meanings that are associated with The Star of David, ranging from association between G-d and the Jews, the directions – North, South, East, West, Up and Down and even that the two triangles represent good and evil. The Star of David is often found on Jewelry and in other art to symbolize or associate someone with Judaism. Among other places, you will regularly find the Star of David on Menorahs, and of course on the Israeli flag.
